ETNA has the pleasure to invite all conference delegates and accompanying guests to a Gala Dinner at the spectacular Gallery Galschiøt.

The Galla Dinner will take place in Jens Galschiøt’s 400 m2 exhibition hall, and the evening sets the stage for conversation, exhibition and ethnic music.

Internationally, Galschiøt is one of the most significant Danish artists of late modernity (after 1980), and his artistic production covers a wide field of expression; from jewellery and small dainty figures to gigantic, politically charged sculptures.

Galschiøt is especially known for creating international happenings to draw attention to the current imbalances in the world. The first of its kind occurred in 1993 with “My Inner Beast”, which comprised a series of over 2.30 meters tall and one-ton heavy sculptures installed in 20 European cities to highlight violence, intolerance, racism, and persecution of minorities.

The exhibition hall presents Galschiøt’s larger sculptures and art events from installations that have been exhibited all over the world. Usually, there is an exhibition of paintings on the walls by Danish and foreign artists, but the exhibitions are constantly changing, as the sculptures and paintings are loaned to other exhibitions and new ones are added.

Please note that the Gala Dinner is NOT included in your conference registration fee and is only available for registered conference participants and their accompanying guests. Attendance is by pre-purchase only and tickets are not available onsite.

We hope that you will prioritize a unique opportunity to give yourself and your fellow participants at the conference a very special, memorable evening.

Gallery Galschøit furthermore works with some of Funen’s finest restaurants and caterers. The gala dinner will be served by Thaisens Hus, which is highly regarded and famous for its cooking school, and which has collaborated with Gallery Galschøit for many years.

ETNA invites all conference delegates and accompanying guests to a fun social evening in the relaxed and unpretentious atmosphere at Storms Pakhus in Odense.

At Storms Pakhus 3000 m2 warehouse you will find the most passionate entrepreneurs on Funen, working with gastronomy and creativity. As an incubator for new restaurateurs and creative innovators, Pakhuset provides a platform for young restaurateurs and creative innovators to realize their dreams and potential.

Storms Pakhus is the perfect place to socialize, while you enjoy your food or a good craft beer among the other guests, and a visit to the authentic industrial halls is in itself an experience.

In the years following the warehouse’s construction around 1942, it led a somewhat turbulent life and stood empty for years. Despite this, Storms Pakhus opened its doors in September 2017 in an effort to preserve the warehouse’s soul and history and at the same time promote entrepreneurship on Funen. The warehouse’s original facade and interior architecture have therefore been preserved, and the interior uses recycled materials, including old wooden beams that were removed and reused for Pakhuset’s food stalls, workshops and bars.

Conveniently located in the city centre close to the harbour, Storms Pakhus is within 10-15 minutes walking distance of Odense Station (also called “Odense Banegård Center – OBC”) and most downtown hotels via the City’s Bridge.

Please note that the Social Dinner is NOT included in your conference registration fee, but registration is required.

ETNA invites all conference delegates and accompanying guests to visit the award-winning Hans Christian Andersen’s House.

Hans Christian Andersen is one of the world’s most famous and well-read authors. Although a prolific writer of plays, travelogues, novels, and poems, Andersen is universally known for his literary fairy tales – “The Ugly Duckling”, “Clumsy Hans”, “The Princess and the Pea”, “The Emperor’s New Clothes”, and “The Nightingale” being some of his most famous works. Every year, his birthday is celebrated as International Children’s Book Day.

Hans Christian Andersen was born on April 2, 1805, in a tiny yellow house in today’s historic quarter of Odense, and it’s now one of the oldest poet museums in the world.

Located only a few blocks from Hans Christian Andersen’s childhood home, Hans Christian Andersen’s House opened in 2021.

In all, 5,600 square meters are devoted to the brand-new museum, two-thirds of which are underground. Additionally, the building intertwines with a surrounding labyrinthine magical garden, and together with a wide array of state-of-the-art technologies and set design concepts, the museum creates an “Andersenian universe”, where reality is suspended and the visitor becomes the character of a story – an exploration that is aimed at both children and adults.

As a museum and attraction, H.C. Andersen’s House cultivates the wonder, the imagination and the adventures that evoke reflection and create new perspectives on ourselves, nature and society.

H.C. Andersen’s House can reveal artistic content of outstanding international quality, and received the European Museum Academy’s prestigious teaching award, DASA Award, in 2022.

Japanese architect Kengo Kuma designed the new museum with his team, which has designed significant projects around the world.

Please note that the visit to H.C. Andersen’s House is NOT included in your conference registration fee, but registration is required.
